I've just signed up to go Over The Edge for Wakeman Boys & Girls Club!
I first went to Wakeman when I was four years old and my family was living across the street. Growing up, Wakeman was a big part of my life. My parents tell me about my first season playing basketball there when Mr. Orsini and Mr. Fitzpatrick were my coaches. For the first few games, I was doing kart wheels down the court but I eventually picked up on what the game was about. That was the beginning of my love of basketball but also of Wakeman. Over the years, I spent so much time playing basketball at the club or meeting friends there after school and hanging out in the game room. As I got older, I volunteered as a girls basketball coach and worked at the summer camps. As is the case with so many people, Wakeman has made such an impact of my life and I want to help pass the gift of such an amazing organization onto others.
On September 13, 2019, I will rappel 248 feet down the People's United Bank Building in Bridgeport, CT. But I can't do it without your help! Please help me to raise $1,000 which covers the membership dues and programs fees for one child for a full year. Please help me reach my goal so that other young people can become a part of the incredible Wakeman community!
